Founded in Napa Valley: A Curator's Approach to Spirits

Established in 2018 in Napa Valley, California, USA, Aged & Amber was born out of a passion for allocated, single barrel, and wood-finished spirits that are difficult to find through ordinary retail channels. Rather than distilling spirits ourselves, we curate through licensed distributors and wholesale channels so collectors can access verified, authentic bottles they would otherwise struggle to track down.

Every bottle that reaches our Napa Valley cellar is sourced through licensed distribution channels, checked for condition and authenticity, and stored under climate-controlled conditions until it ships.

What began as a whiskey vault has grown into a full cellar. Alongside single barrel bourbon, cask-strength rye, single malt Scotch, Irish and Japanese whisky, we carry aged and dark rum, artisanal gin, craft vodka, tequila and mezcal, and Cognac and brandy — plus fine wine from Napa Valley, Bordeaux, and Burgundy, grower-to-prestige Champagne and sparkling wine, craft and import beer, hard cider, and a growing range of non-alcoholic spirits, wine, and sparkling alternatives that ship nationwide with no age restriction. The through-line is the same across every category: curate carefully, verify what we buy, store it properly, and ship it compliantly.

The Philosophy: Provenance & Authenticity First

More than 60% to 70% of a fine spirit's final flavor and 100% of its natural amber color originates from the oak barrel it matured in — which is why cask type and wood provenance are central to how we describe and select every bottle we carry, from virgin American white oak to toasted French oak, Tawny Port pipes, and seasoned Spanish Oloroso sherry hogsheads.

We prioritize distilleries and expressions that avoid heavy chill-filtration where possible, since chill-filtration is a cosmetic shortcut that can strip natural fatty acids, wood sugars, and aromatic oils that give whiskey its fuller mouthfeel and finish.

Through our direct-to-consumer platform, enthusiasts across every state where direct-to-consumer alcohol shipping is legally permitted gain access to single barrel picks, limited cask-strength releases, and allocated bottlings that are often difficult to find at retail. Orders placed before 2:00 PM local time to Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, or Utah qualify for same-day dispatch; all other states we serve receive spirits within 2-5 business days.

Every order shipped from our Napa Valley headquarters is packed in climate-controlled temperature shields and dispatched via compliant spirits carriers requiring mandatory adult signature and 21+ ID verification upon delivery. Non-alcoholic products carry none of those restrictions and ship to all 50 states.

How We Verify and Store Every Bottle

Because we don't distill, our value is in what we choose to carry and how we handle it. Every bottle is bought from a distillery's own allocation program or a state-licensed distributor — never from grey-market resellers or auction lots of unknown provenance. On arrival, each case is checked for fill level, seal and capsule integrity, label condition, and batch or barrel markings against what the producer released. Anything that doesn't match is sent back.

Accepted stock rests in a temperature- and humidity-controlled room, upright or angled by closure type, away from light and vibration, until it's picked for an order. For allocated and single-barrel releases we record the barrel number, warehouse, and fill date so collectors know exactly which release they're receiving.
