Louis Roederer Champagne — Cristal, Collection Brut & Cristal Rosé
Louis Roederer’s Cristal was created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II of Russia — the clear, flat-bottomed bottle was reportedly designed at the Tsar’s request, in part so nothing could be hidden beneath a colored bottle, and remained exclusive to the Russian Imperial Court for decades before its first commercial release in 1945. Louis Roederer remains one of the few major Champagne houses still fully family-owned and independent, and should not be conflated with its separate California venture, Roederer Estate.
